If you’re Christian I hope you don’t believe asexuality exists because you are implying you and/or others are immune from sinful lust, which is applying divine properties to humans and therefore defying crucial theological principles.

It’s just in asexuals are actually have divine properties

lmao oh my goodness

finally the recognition i deserve, the godly kind

BOW DOWN PEASANTS

Is op for real

No idea but people do make this argument, so those who do suggest asexual people are somehow against God should read their Bible.

On why Paul, who remained celibate, recommends marriage for those who desire sex: “I say this as a concession, not as a command. I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.” (NIV: 1 Corinthians 7:6-7).

“Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.” (NIV: 1 Corinthians 7:8-9).

I see a pretty explicit acknowledgment from the Christian rulebook that asexuality (or at least lifelong lack of interest in or inclination toward sex) not only exists, but is acceptable. People who invoke this particular religion as a reason to reject our legitimacy or as a supposed reason to reject us for fellowship within it are doing the same thing many hypocrites do: cherry-picking their sacred text and putting words into their lord’s mouth.

(The Bible verses mentioned here are still problematic for asexual people, though, because it suggests marriage necessarily leads to sex and is in fact designed for blessed sexual intercourse. Sexless marriages would likely not be supported. It is also problematic because it suggests people “cannot control themselves” and this is the primary reason to marry a person.)

I’m good with being thought divine, though, if y'all wanna.
